However, for people, who do not need regular advice, I am happy to share some brief advice to those, who think that I might add value to whatever they are interested in (obviously, this is limited to areas and topics that I feel I can provide such advice). Since my time, as everyone’s, is limited to 24 hours in a day, I can advise only a handful of people, depending on mutual personality fit as well as my workload and other circumstances. Requests of such nature follow my philosophy of mentoring and are part of my planned pro bono activities. I firmly believe in pay it forward paradigm, giving back to community and helping those in need. While some people offer mentoring as a commercial service, I believe that by definition mentoring implies gratis advice, gentle supervision and lifelong personal bonds between mentors and mentees. I think that, for all commercial advisory offerings, terms consulting and/or advising should be used, but not mentoring.
